Mindfulness techniques for pain relief?

Recommended Posts

Yes, I love doing these.  I have since my early 20s; I have fibromyalgia diagnosed at that time.  Age 22 began having kids; post- partum migraines for 3 years and by age 35 a part hysterectomy for endometriosis for 6 months. No medicines or answers how to deal with things then and depression from not dealing well with pain led me to many self healing tools.  Body scans are the very best way to clear away pain.

I do chakra body scans, meridian body scans, and breathing body scan.  Very helpful.  No migraines today, not so many flare-ups with fibro today.  Since breaking my foot, though the more active I become I will be working on it again.  This is why I do Qigong and teach Chinese medicine.  Meditation, visualization, music and smells, present in nature all help with my pain management.

Smells and nature aromas are really helpful for me as well, specifically when it comes to headaches and migraines. For premenstrual pain, simple breathing exercises and yoga are my go-to practices.

Same here Gillian, in my teens I did much yoga, stretching and walking for pain.  After having the kids I learned more about the connections of environment and physical body.  I don’t think I would have survived. So much pain. I later found out was endometriosis.  That was not a fun time.  I was 35 years old. But it is all done with now.
