  1. I have been exploring Local Art Exhibits in Dallas, when I stumbled across this Video;

it appears to be a sort-of Guided Imagery of a soothing description of an ArtWork called: "Stargazing in Texas"; the Woman describing the Work of art asks us to be curious about

this ArtWork by taking a 1 minute Mindful pause...it is pretty Amazing. As Dr. Richie Davidson suggests, Mindful experiences are all around us...we just have be curiously aware!

Here is the Video Youtube link:      I am asking you to be curious about it...and express that!

  2. Wow! How timely, Gillian, (I checked all the boxes) as I was just reading Kristen Neff's & Christopher's Germer's Book, The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook last night and the Chapter on:

Self-Compassion Motivation (Chpater 11)>>>talk about doing a deeper dive! much food for thougt...the book feels like a Mature Diary as it becomes neccessary to, not only look at flaws, but to forgive those as well Via Self-Compassion.

I am striving to make changes in my Life as I have extended to offer a Mindful Meditation with one of my Dr's office's whom I admire for his humility; I know that could be perceived as a Conflict of Interest, though have given him an out if that is a problem for him.

    Have a Great day all!!

  4. On my Creative side! Just so I am not just repeating the same Mantra or Prayer every time, I am going to originate some in my own verbage to make them more authentic!

After my Breakfast this AM, my Partner conveyed her own short one-liner to me, which I responded with one too! something is sinking in apparently...I think the day I informed her that Mindfulness is not a "Woo-Woo" as Sean explaines, it has become a way of Life!!

  5. Yes,  My Dr.  responded in an email to me today:

"This means more to me than you know".

That says to me, keep Extending that Loving-Kindness!

I once read a short article called: "A Pebble in a Pond"; here it is:

    https://liftedup.us/a-pebble-in-a-pond/

    It ends with this:

"We each have a tremendous responsibility to be the best person we can to the world at large.

The Pond is depending on us. Love is the only answer".

  6. I was grateful to Meditate before a Dr's Appt. today, that I was anxious over; after the Dr. examined me he informed that I was healed from my Malady; we exchanged some Loving-Kindnesses as he disclosed to me that his Mom who just recently moved to Texas, just before the Covid hit, and now his Mom has been diagnosed with ALS; wow, I could tell how much he loves his Mom; we had a Family member who passed away from that...I told him She would be in our Prayers...He's an Awesome Dr. and treats me like a whole person!

  7. Speaking of Wintering, I share these Winter Photos from McKinney, TX: I took these 2 days ago..we were in the Deepest Freeze Texas has ever seen! Millions were without Power/Heat for days and much damage was sustained to homes and Businesses, so I am inviting some Loving Kindness to be extended to Texans today; we were wearing 3 layers of Winter Apparel to bed at night; even winter hats too! Many have had Pipes freezing and bursting and flooding homes and businesses!!!

Pictured below are Condos in an expensive neighborhood called, Adriatica-a Hotspot for Photographers!

  8. I thought of something else-If I was going to be a Quality Therapist, then I should be a Power of example, then in order to promote Therapy, then I better take that same advice! Having been subjected to early Divorce  proceedings, I was forced to see a Therapist via Civil Court which turned out to be the Best happening in my Life; I stuck with Virginia Pomeroy for a solid 2 years never missing a Session; I admired and respected her cause she had a strong Christian Faith whom I respected! It turned out one day prior to terminating with her, she said to me very earnestly:

"I want to tell you Rick, you have been the Best Client I have ever had"! Wow, I thought! I was floored by that remark, and then asked her: "Why is that, Ginnie" and she replied, "You have not shyed away from 'Doing the Work that is required'"! I have always had a Special place for her in my heart! She was always so careful not to push me and cared for me...she would say" If I am coming on too strong, let me know" I would reply, "Bring it on-dont sugar coat it"! and I grew so much with her I followed her recommendation to pursue Group Therapy; I did that for a year and a half and I am a better man today because of that!

Share a little more about yourself and let us know something that most people don't know about you.

    For instance...
What did your childhood self yearn to be when he/she/they grew up?
When was the last time you laughed until you cried?
What was your biggest mistake turned lesson?
What are you afraid of, big or small?
What unique quirks do you have?

This list of questions is by no means exhaustive of where this can go. Use your imagination to dig for something wild/surprising/unusual or share something totally 'normal' (whatever normal is) and relatable.

Great Posts, All! Hmmm...a couple of my Firsts: I wanted to be a Dr.

Second: cant remember the date tho was recently...LOL! Many lessons...when I previously worked in a Detox program I was arguing with a Female client until my Friend, Lana, the RN spotted me and motioned me immediately into the Conference room, and reminded me in 30 Secs or less how sick these Patients are and I should know better...that was my first Real Lesson in Compassion; BTW...I found myself in my Supervisor's office time and time again prior to this; the Theme, was always the same!-"Compassion"

After Lana's intervention, it never happened again....one day I decided to pop in on my Supervisor's office to see how she was since lots of time had gone by with no more Sermonizing about "Compassion"! We both had a good chuckle about my Progress! Upon leaving that job and coming to Texas, she left me with a glowing recommendation!:)

Next: Being attacked by anything or anyone...I was jumped & attacked as a child!:(

Quirk: None I can think of...

Most have been 4 weeks long and ~2-3 hours per session.  I start with an introduction to Mindfulness workshop, then do one on stress and anxiety, one on Loving-Kindness and Gratitude and close it out with one that ties it all together and is designed to help each participant establish a regular practice designed specifically for them.

Interesting fact--when we attempt to "multitask" our average IQ temporarily drops by 10 points.  In comparison, someone under the influence of pot only experiences a drop of 5 points.  So when we try to do too many things at once, we are literally less efficient than someone high.

Hi Steve and all! Great thread here; right up my alley as I sit in admiration wanting to Teach in Healthcare; more later...I am wondering if we could start a Corporate Subgroup, just sayin' We were kicking around different ideas with Sean today! I definitely want consult with y'all!

In any case, Steve, funny thing about "Multitasking", In Daniel Goleman & Dr. Richard Davidson's
    Book,  Altered Traits, they say:

"Attention tasks don't really go on in parallel, as 'multitasking implies, instead they demand rapid switching from one thing to the other. And following every such switch, when our attention returns to the original task, its strength has been appreciably diminished. It can take several minutes to ramp up once again to full concentration". Thus, the ending result is: "the harm spills over into the rest of life"!  (Pg. 137)

I am super excited that Dr. Richard Davidson is with us next month! I am reading their book now, basically a lot of Scientific explanations, which I love!

I wish all the Corporate Teachers could have a Board meeting; I am enlisting your assistance in how y'all got your Corporate Clients; I am seeking marketing tips; I have approached a few local cities and as well as one Healthcare facility in McKinney, TX...though I have briefly interviewed one ER RN Supervisor & Corporate does want to be transparent when this Supervisor tells me, "Burnout is a major issue"! so I am open to emails, Zoom meetings, or whatever it takes, Folks....feel free to email me too, at :FinestCoaching524@gmail.com.

    P. S. I always type in purple for a very good reason; I don't know why no one else does; guess it's the Creative Artistic Creative Photographer in me!:)

So, my corporate compadres, I am open to ideas; this is not as time to be shy either.:)

  14. For me,  my recent Book had to be A Clinician's Guide to Teaching Mindfulness by Christiane Wolf & J. Greg Serpa, which I just finished. That I will forever referencing!

Now I am onto "Teaching the Mindful Self-Compassion Program" and their below Workbook. Not sure how to tackle those...nut sure whether they go relatively together, chapter by chapter?
