  1. I don' have problems falling asleep. I used to have problems staying asleep. Breath meditation helped fix that. Simple slow 3 count in and slow 4 count out is what works for me. YMMV.
  2. I'm a huge fan of mindfulness quotes. And I am fortunate enough to be the social media creator for a the yoga center where I teach, so I get to play with them a lot. You have both mentioned quite a few powerful ones above. I have always loved "Wherever you go, there you are." Attributed to so many going back to Confucius. I'm not sure who it was originally by. "And forget not that earth delights to feel your feet, and the wind longs to play with your hair" - Kahlil Gibran. My favorite as nature always helps my mindfulness practice. "If your compassion does not include yourself, it is incomplete." - Buddha "Kindness thrives when shared."
  3. I love that you have space for your four legged family members!
  4. I work with Tim McCormack and Kath Meadows, who also do a lot with prison programs for mindfulness and yoga. Such valuable work. Thank you.
  5. Gillian, where I teach has some donation based virtual classes. If you are interested, scroll down here and you'll see some Qigong events. https://www.columbiayoga.com/our-story-and-community
  6. No one has answered this, yet. I think we have a cultural misconception that prevents people from acknowledging or publicly acknowledging their own strengths. It's misinterpreted as "ego," or something. It is my belief that kindness to ourselves and to others can help us get over that. In answer to your question, I am in a fortunate position to organize fundraisers and create digital portals to organize fundraisers. So, with my community (I teach Pilates at a yoga studio) we are able to create events (currently all virtual, of course) that help people take care of their health and wellness, while also donating to local causes that are really in need right now.
  7. Thank you for the kind words. With my movement background I connect well with somatic practices. My heart gravitates toward loving-kindness practices. So, a combination of both. With the pandemic slow down in life, I am fortunate enough to have lots of work that keeps me busy (and at home), as well as some time to focus on my own practice and also support virtual events that raise money for local charities. I'm not taking part in forums as much. I'll poke around a bit today. Thanks for the reminder.

  9. Greetings new friends! I've been thinking about doing this program for a while, and finally registered. I look forward to the journey. I was first introduced to mindfulness and meditation in 1986. I perform cultural dance and I teach Pilates at a yoga studio, where I am surrounded by lovely folks who practice mindfulness. I have been adding mindfulness practices into my Pilates classes, and want to make it more official, and help my students even more.
