Feeling into the elements for self-awareness
Leslie Simpson replied to Gillian Sanger's topic in Breath & Body Awareness
Thanks for the answer. This is a really interesting approach that promotes self-discovery. This is a great way to find out your weaknesses and possible growth points, working on which you can better realize yourself in life. -
Feeling into the elements for self-awareness
Leslie Simpson replied to Gillian Sanger's topic in Breath & Body Awareness
I have never thought about the essence of a person from such an angle. But in principle, these methods describe a person's temperament. I used to be calm by nature, but prone to worries, now I feel more motivation to achieve something than I was before. Is it possible for my personality type to change under the influence of some outside factors? -
During difficult times, what helps to anchor you?
Leslie Simpson replied to Gillian Sanger's topic in Question of the Week
Probably my hobbies (they help me to relax), as well as striving for a goal. I have become very self-motivated in the past few years. I realized that you shouldn't give up halfway, because there were difficulties on the way. -
When was a time you felt most alive?
Leslie Simpson replied to Gillian Sanger's topic in Question of the Week
I felt more alive when I got rid of the toxic people in my environment. It’s like waking up after a long sleep, in which my nerves were methodically draining out of me. -
When you concentrate on breathing, time seems to pass more slowly. Sometimes it seems that half an hour has passed - such a feeling of rest and relaxation is felt after these few minutes.

What is inspiring you right now?
Leslie Simpson replied to Gillian Sanger's topic in The Watercooler
Houseplants have been inspiring me lately. I really like to take care of them and watch how the plants grow and bloom. To make the plants feel better in winter, I ordered 4 Honesorn 600W grow lights. Found them right here https://homemakerguide.com/led-grow-lights/. I have a lot of flowers and while the sunny day was very short, atmospheric light reigned in my house. -
Man in general is a tenacious being and capable of adapting to any conditions and surviving many difficulties. Someone's trials break, but many, on the contrary, become stronger. The main thing is to draw the right conclusions from all your troubles.

It's great that you felt this feeling of oneness with your own body. This is difficult to achieve these days, because we live in a stream of things, in a stream of stress and change. With such dynamics, it is very difficult to devote time to self-discovery.

I have not watched this film, unfortunately, I do not have time to follow all the news. But I would be very interested to see this film. Thanks for your discussion thread.

How can mindfulness help to bridge our perceived divides?
Leslie Simpson replied to Gillian Sanger's topic in The Watercooler
The problem of communication is also that on the Internet, hiding our identity, we often show the worst traits of character, using anonymity and impunity. This does not apply to everyone, but to many. -
The first couple of times it was difficult not to think, thoughts themselves climbed into my head. But then I just switched to feeling all the sensations that are in the body. It helps to relax and release nervous tension.

I really like developing literature, but how do you feel about fiction? I love classics, mainly British and French, although there are works written no more than 100 years ago, which have also become world classics. I'm reading Archibald Cronin's The Hatter's Castle right now, just for fun. The novel is difficult, but very interesting.

I will not reveal a secret to anyone if I say that breathing techniques have long been known as a way to relax, relieve stress and tension. It is quite simple to master them, it is a little more difficult to master the process of concentrating on sensations. Concentration is the essence.

This is the whole difficulty of the challenges. And at the same time, this is the complexity of human nature. We cannot constantly be in a state of maximum concentration, because this leads to burnout. Our consciousness is so arranged that it is not always under control.

Hey! My name is Leslie and I'm a housewife. I am fond of gardening and cooking, equipping my home with comfort, and I also really love self-improvement. I read a lot of literature in this direction. I think this is helpful. I want to become a part of your community to learn more new and useful things for me.
