  1. Hi everyone! Excited to be in this group! I've been studying mindfulness and spirituality for about a year now, so I'm pretty new to everything. I'm starting to realize that I've had some experiences before. Unconscious competence, if you will lol. I remember lots of times as a kid when I'd just lay out on my trampoline or some other random place, and kind just space out completely, listening to everything going on around me. I could go from bored to serene. Losing track of time while just simply being present. I'm trying to be more intentional about it, rather than randomly sliding into meditation, but it's challenging to force myself into a session on a schedule. Any advice on this?

    • I am way off topic, however, I stumbled on this website, and feel relieve to get my thoughts out. Perhaps for me it is selfish. A deep depression has had deep roots in my soul lately(four months). Suicide continues to plague my mind. I have a plan, just need to purchase the black electrical tape. My firstborn killed herself more than 45 years ago. I do not want to cause that type of pain ( survive suicide) in anyone's heart ever again. However, suicide continues to flood my mind. I chose this form to use because those of you reading this do not know me. I have isolated myself quite well. I spend most days alone. I do not think I will act on my ideation; nonetheless, I am concerned enough to reach out in this way because this is the safest way to bring about a little sense of calm.  I do not know how this works it is my first time to express my self-absorbed thoughts safely. I do not want to act on my ideations. I do not believe I will take my existence into my own hands. Please forgive me if I have abused this site. 
    • How does this impact how you engage in your day? First of all im happy to be come back again here .. i listened to this video more than 7 times.  Usually we will not aware of sound smell and sight at a time ..like being concious all the time . i felt like something i was missing in my day to day life like being awareness of sound smell sight at each moment. no one will teach us like this in a practical way of life. We should follow being aware of smell sight also sound at each moment. will try it out . The words in the video : "noticing the sounds around you noticing the smell noticing the sight feel the feeling  sense the sensation" lingering in my mind          
    • Hello Everyone my name is Arnez, I’m looking for free tips and techniques about meditation. I came across a video that helped manifest some cool stuff for me, I think if everyone checked this video out it could help you guys as well. Comment with you techniques and I’ll share the link to the video I found.

    • Hi Gillian,  I like the idea you describe of following our own inner compass regarding divisions. I agree that sometimes direct engagement is needed. Then, using what the author Robert Wright calls “cognitive empathy” is really required. That means asking yourself to try to understand the way of thinking about things that another person uses. If successful, it gives the listener a way to understand how that person forms their beliefs; a way to greater understanding. We will need compassion and patience and strength for this process as our own different thinking will likely arise and perhaps  promote a desire to be defensive. If we can suffuse ourselves with love and show it in our own comments we might be able to share our own ideas. Not to “convert” anyone but to let others know we follow another path, our path, on these issues. It is my hope that this could possibly open their views to ours. Daniel

    • That is beautiful Gillian! I love to dance too! It is an amazing feeling and feeling so alive, especiallyi with music you truly love. I love oldie songs and and spiritual dancing that is uplifting. It makes me feel so aware and I feel like I am dancing with my sister, who passed away 2 years ago, but I feel her presence stronger than ever. That is so awesome that you experienced the magic and pure aliveness. I am with you!! Yay!
